Browser Safety

Install the custom Browser Safety browser (recommended for managed child PCs) or the Edge extension.

Custom browser (Windows) v1.0.6

• Browser-Safety-Setup-1.0.6.exe — recommended GUI installer (Program Files, Start menu + desktop shortcuts, uninstall support)
• browser-safety-browser.zip — portable build (extract and run Browser Safety.exe)

Install with the setup wizard:

1. Download and run Browser-Safety-Setup-1.0.6.exe (accept the UAC prompt).
2. Complete the installer, then finish pairing (Set up / log in) in the browser.
3. Optional: pin to taskbar and set as the default browser.

To upgrade, run a newer Browser-Safety-Setup-*.exe over the existing install. Pairing and settings are kept.

Portable install (advanced): extract browser-safety-browser.zip, open win-unpacked, and run Browser Safety.exe.

Pairing and policy are identical to the extension. See browser/INSTALL.md in the repo for silent install and uninstall details.

Edge extension v1.4.1

Install by dragging the CRX onto edge://extensions (Developer mode enabled), or use the ZIP for a manual unpacked install.

• extension-updates.xml — auto-update manifest
• VERSION.txt — plain-text version check

Unpacked install (ZIP):

1. Remove the old Browser Safety entry from edge://extensions.
2. Download the ZIP above (use a fresh download; do not reuse an old extract folder).
3. Extract to a new folder and open manifest.json — it must say "version": "1.4.1".
4. Click Load unpacked and select that folder (the one containing manifest.json).

Reloading an existing unpacked install does not switch folders. If Edge still shows an older version, you are still loading the previous directory.

Flash Card extension v0.1.4

Configure prompts in the extension popup or at utili.io/flashcard.php.

AppGuard v1.0.21

Password-gated app blocker for Windows — blocks games and apps until a parent enters the password.

• appguard-setup.zip — Windows installer (extract and run Install-AppGuard.bat as Administrator)

Install:

1. Download and extract appguard-setup.zip on the child PC.
2. Double-click Install-AppGuard.bat (accept the UAC prompt).
3. Set a parent password when prompted.
4. Use the system tray icon → Settings to manage blocked apps.

The child account should be a Standard User (not Administrator).
